Synopsis from the Filmmaker:
The protagonist, Young-jae, is a filmmaker who's about to make his debut in this industry. He seems cool, but in reality he and his entourage are struggling to get on the right track... I just wanted to show you how to take those trials and errors with a light heart. In a nutshell, this is how I started my first feature film.
Reviews:
"As one of the funniest and most imaginative films to play this year's festival circuit, this is a fine example of emerging South Korean cinema."
—Suite101.com
"A pleasantly upbeat surprise... reveals a potential talent in [director/writer] Yoon Seong-ho."
—Variety
From South Korea comes this offbeat, whimsical and sometimes poignant film about the process of trying to make a film. Budding director Ryu Yeong-jae (Lim Ji-gyu) is trying to get his first feature project off the ground, but his girlfriend just dumped him and he's starting to have strange memory problems. Like a young, bespectacled Korean Woody Allen, he sets off a hilarious chain of events while trying to push his dream forward. The filmmakers are slyly aware of how pretentious and ridiculous showbiz can get, and poke fun at the film industry with satisfying precision. Watch for the scene in the Korean Krispy Kreme! -SC |
